Introduction
How to make repairs in the clean room
Scope: Medical devices manufacturing company
Target group: quality manager, production manager, maintenance manager
Situation
A power outlet in the clean room does not work. Equipment is no longer powered. An electrician must be called in to perform the emergency repair.
The instruction to enter the clean room requires that employees who work in the clean room wear a cover hair, mask, overshoes, lab coat and gloves.
In the event of an emergency, does the electrician have to follow the same procedures for propetctive clothing?
Challenge
The maintenance manager interviews the quality manager and the production manager.
They must agree on a solution:
Solution 1. The electrician dons full protective clothing to enter and work in the clean room
Solution 2. The electrician dons part of the protective clothing (overshoes and gloves)
Solution 3. The electrician washes their hands before entering the clean room
